About Dearborn Epoxy Flooring
Dearborn Epoxy Flooring coats concrete floors in Dearborn, the western Wayne County suburbs and the Downriver cities along the Detroit River. Most of our work is in garages and basements. We also coat auto repair bays, storage buildings, warehouse aisles and the back rooms of stores and restaurants.
Dearborn is an older city. Census-based housing data puts the median home here at 1952, and about 70% of the housing was built before 1960. A slab that age has usually been through decades of salt, a few owners and at least one round of patching or paint. Many Dearborn basements have also taken water: the city says the 2021 storm flooded some 20,000 homes in under 24 hours. So we start every job by finding out what the concrete has been through.
What to expect from us
- A visit to measure the floor, take a moisture reading and look for old paint, sealer, oil and cracks.
- A written quote naming the coating system, the number of coats, the prep work and the total.
- Diamond grinding of the slab so the coating bonds to clean, open concrete.
- Repair of cracks, chipped joints and pitted spots before the first coat.
- A cure schedule for foot traffic, furniture and cars, based on the product and the temperature that day.
- A written change order for anything added after the quote. Nothing extra is billed without your signature.
We only coat concrete. If a floor has a problem that a coating will hide for a season and then show again, such as water coming through a wall, a slab that is heaving or a crack that keeps widening, we say so at the estimate.
